Description

A self-adhesive surface mounted intumescent fire & smoke seal supplied in door sets to suit single leaf single action fire door assemblies. The seals are 25mm wide incorporating 20mm wide intumescent plus 5mm wide brush smoke seal.

The set consists of 3 x 1050mm lengths [ref FP202] which is nominally 2mm thick and 2 x 1050mm lengths [ref FP102] which is nominally 1mm thick. The FP102 is used for ease of fitting to the hinge jamb, where you would expect a smaller gap in comparison to the closing jamb or head.

Single door sets suitable for doors up to 2100mm high x 1050mm wide.

Colours: white with grey brush smoke seal suitable for gaps 3-4mm.

Installation

The thicker pieces, FP202 are installed on the closing lock jamb and head of door. The thinner pieces, FP102 are fitted to the hinge jamb and are placed over the metal hinge; this will absorb the heat off the metal and prolong the efficiency of the hinge. A gap of 3-4mm is required to the head and closing jamb prior to application. The brush seal should be fitted so that is in the corner between frame and stop.

In all cases it is essential that the frame is smooth, dry and free of dust and grease that may impair the bond, also paint/stain on the frame must be sound, if there is any doubt we recommend that the seal be pinned in position. We also recommend that additional protection is provided to the ironmongery by the us of Door Furniture Protection products.

Figure 1 shows the make up of the door frame fitted with FP202 & FP102

The brush is fitted into the corner between door frame and stop.

Figure 2 shows FP202 fitted to closing jamb and head, the leading edge of the door may need adjusting.

Figure 3 shows FP102 fitted over the hinges of the hung jamb

The product does not present any known health hazards during or after installation.

Normal good industrial and personal hygiene practises should be observed.
