DescriptionIntumescent material formed into a square, rectangular or circular matrix and contained within a steel frame with anti-vermin mesh on both sides. On exposure to heat from a fire the intumescent material swells to produce a fire resistant seal against the passage of fire, smoke and hot gases. The grilles are easily installed in vertical apertures in doors, walls and ventilation ducting. Benefits
AvailabilitySquare or rectangular grilles available in standard sizes up to 600mm x 600mm. Circular grilles are available in standard sizes from 70mm to 300mm dia. Square or rectangular steel louvered faceplates in a painted satin aluminium finish are also available to provide an aesthetically pleasing finish. (Other finishes available to order). InstallationThe grilles are designed to suit most fire doors or can be installed into a fire resistant wall or partition. Simply cut a hole in the door or wall to give a tight fit around the grille. A bead of intumescent mastic should be placed around the perimeter of the grille, between grille and timber or grille and masonry wall, to seal the surrounds. (If fitting into studwork walls please contact us for fitting guide). Face plates if required are approx. 50mm oversize so that they can be screwed onto the face of the door or wall. When used within ventilation ductwork, pipes, etc. The grille should be positioned on the centre line of the fire barrier and a bead of intumescent mastic should be placed around the perimeter of the grille, between grille and ductwork/pipe to seal the surrounds and then secured in position with self-tapping screws. In all cases the grilles are not load bearing and adequate support must be provided. Health and SafetyThe product does not present any known health hazards during or after installation. Normal good industrial and personal hygiene practises should be observed. |
