Zeroflame Fire
Retardant Paint (70kb pdf)
A water based
intumescent emulsion coating in a matt White finish that can be used by itself or beneath
other decorative finishes to achieve both Class O and Class 1 fire protection on
internal timber surfaces.
Suitable for use in public buildings, schools, housing, shopping
centres, restaurants, banks, churches and for walls and ceilings in escape
routes where timber or wood derivatives are used, has been tested to BS476
Parts 6&7 (1987) on such materials as softwoods, hardwoods, plywood, MDF,
pre-painted fibre insulation board, plasterboard, etc in new and existing structures. Can be applied by brush, roller
or spray.
Under test, no loss of performance has been
recorded when Zeroflame Fire Retardant Paint has been overcoated with up to
three coats of acrylic or latex finishes. It can be applied over sound existing
paintwork, however, where it is intended to use the product on previously
painted surfaces the Building Owner, Specifier and Contractor would have to
decide on the suitability of the surface, if there is any doubt regarding
the adhesion of previously applied finishes these must be completely removed by
stripping or sanding.
Overcoating: The
manufacturers advise that Zeroflame FR Paint can be overcoated with up
to 3 coats of acrylic paint where a decorative finish is required. |
